British Museum offers virtual reality tour of Bronze Age

The link below is to an article I found about the use of virtual tools in a museum, although this is not strictly a virtual museum because you have to visit the museum for this experience I thought this was a great way of using technology to bring history alive

With the technology available today you could in a small way in the classroom not just for history but also for other subjects. Can you imagine experiencing a volcanic explosion with out the danger, seeing the Great Barrier Reef even though you cannot swim or walking on the Great Wall of China in you classroom?

I am not a teacher but I am a parent and I think this would be of great values in the classroom, as a teacher do you see value in the investment of this type of technology?
